Firecrackers
Firecrackers are small consumer fireworks designed primarily to produce a loud report rather than visual effects. While compact in size, they are known for their sharp sound and fast ignition.
Firecrackers are commonly sold in three formats: Single firecrackers – lit one at a time, producing a quick and loud pop; Firecracker bricks – large bundles fused together that fire rapidly in sequence; and Firecracker strips – individual firecrackers connected by a fuse, going off one after another.
Firecrackers usually have minimal visual display with a loud sharp sound. They have a very short run time and ignition is fast once lit. Because of their sound level, firecrackers are often subject to local restrictions, so legality can vary by location.
Fun History: Firecrackers are widely believed to be the earliest form of fireworks, originally developed for noise rather than visual display. Their design has remained largely unchanged over centuries – when you buy a firecracker, you are buying ancient technology!
